I. Honk If You're... Celebrate, for the Augur is back online and almost certainly fully operational! Have you heard the glorious early-morning honks of the latest avian arrivals to the Island? If not, you will, because the new island geese appear to be propagating rapidly, growing bold enough in their increasing numbers to invade the city proper. The geese are clever and aggressive when provoked, and moreover? They seem to take a special pleasure in tormenting any being who treats them unkindly, snapping at rear ends and stealing away food and belongings while their targets’ backs are turned. Stolen items may be delivered to unsuspecting bystanders, or worse - thrown into the pond. On the other hand, Islanders whom the geese perceive as pleasant and kind to their brethren might find themselves gifted with mystery treasures (which all look suspiciously used). The good news? The geese are tamable and smart enough to be taught fun tricks! Failing that, they are also very delicious when roasted. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● II. [ cat ears intensify ] Those who still have their ears and tails will find themselves beset with new urges. Bestial impulses grow by the day and become impossible to ignore. Some may find themselves overpowered by the urge to find a mate: someone to bite and claim, or someone to be claimed by. Others may give in to the instincts of a predator, becoming territorial or violent. There are even some who may feel domestic, preferring to groom themselves and others, and to strut their pedigreed selves. Emotions are strong and powerful in those who still have their feline influence, but all of that influence will fade away after the first orgasm of the full moon, no Auspiciousness necessary. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● III. Voting Gauntlet: Cats VS Birds Between happy kittens and angry geese, one couldn’t be blamed for failing to notice when the mysterious fog that lingers over much of the unexplored interior of the island recedes a little further to reveal lushly forested mountains that seem to call out to be climbed. The friendly robots share that they have recently recovered data regarding the many medicinal herbs and fruits available for harvest on those peaks, but warn to stay away from the pockets of fog that linger in the valleys lest curious residents risk losing their memories again. If prompted further, especially considerate ‘bots may also think to warn of the monsters that tend to glitch in from their guests’ homeworlds. (The more optimistic robots, however, are holding out hope that this bug has been repaired. It hasn’t.) What the robots don’t yet know is that the introduction of bird species back unto Erku has also sparked the return of native fauna: namely, the harpies. The harpies conceal their nests deep within the mountains, and guard them fiercely. Human-sized but with supernatural strength, harpies will attack ferociously with both their fierce talons and their deafening shrieks if their territory is disturbed, and their shouts may render an Islander completely immobile where they stand. The effects last for hours, long enough for the creatures to escape - but if one is lucky enough to be found or accompanied by an Islander who is immune, a kiss on the lips will break the spell! Strangely enough, the harpies seem to be completely terrified of Islanders who still have their feline features, perhaps because the harpy scream seems to have no effect on cat people at all. In fact, even fake kitty ears will be enough to spook harpies on sight. Once the robots uncover this research and make it available to the public at the library, costume cat ears and tails (and collars?) can easily be found for sale for just a few credits at the convenience store or the hospital gift shop. Orgasms are a little hard to come by for a guy who spends most of the time as a hologram (and given the state of him, probably even tougher when he's not one, cw for graphic animated art). But I'd love to plot with anyone willing to explore how this can be overcome, bc i have Ideas.

For Abel (navigating). A5. Likewise, Abel is still cat-eared, somehow, and honestly he's gonna look for a mate right fast because he's Like That anyway. Of my two boys, Abel is the most likely to be harrassed by geese and get his few things stolen.

She didn't actually participate in this event when it first started, but I'm open to doing something with it! At least she gets animalistic instincts. She'll be glad to help anyone out, or just participate in grooming or mating for the fun of it.

Haru would be very interested in the native herbs and fruits in the forest, so could possibly go check them out! I don't have any strong ideas, but I'm down for brainstorming something up too.

Apollo never got rid of his cat ears and now he'll be one of the characters going alley-cat, prowling a (too-wide) territory around his apartment building and generally getting into trouble. Expect to find him Chords-of-Steel yowling, being chased by geese, and knocking over trash cans. I already have someone lined up for ridding him of his cat instincts, but in the meantime Apollo will be a ridiculously terrible predator. I'll probably top-level for him this time around.

Trahearne also still has his cat features, but he's going to be much more chill and domestic, with more of an urge to help other felines. I'm planning on him mostly being involved in exploring the mountain and fighting monsters and harpies. Hey y'all! I'd love to fill out a square or two for Even this month, so I'm no longer gen-only for plotting.

The geese are going to spook Even. He's probably going to try and shoo some away from the house he's staying in, inevitably pissing one or two off and getting caught in a loop of unhappiness until he's cornered by some flapping honkers -- someone please come rescue him from these geese.

He doesn't want to hurt them, he just wants them to leave him alone and stop snitching his snacks! And his stuff for that matter -- he's gotten his spellbook back FINALLY after the last event, but if you want to get something of his, feel free to find his wand, component pouch, bottle of fortified wine, or the key to his house.

In general, Even's cat-instincts are going to err towards skittish. He's probably going to get jumpier for this part of the event -- until he finds someone he thinks is safe, then he'll probably be a bit of a lap-cat and pretty easy to get horny once he's feeling safe. Or he'll just sit on you, like a cat trying to distract its owner from the computer. I would love to get some cuddles and grooming in, and happy to have it escalate because ~instincts~

I'd love him to get stunned by the harpies once he's gotten rid of his cat bits. Perhaps an expedition to catalogue and gather some of those cool new herbs that goes a bit sideways?

There are also a ton of cool D&D monsters, if anyone's in the mood to get ambushed. Ever wanted to get totally fucked up by a beholder? Or perhaps more on-brand for the island, mind controlled by a succubus? Maybe mistake a rakshasa for a be-tailed islander?

For Jesse McCree/brambler: (I) Sorry to everyone who likes geese, but he'll be giving them a wide berth... except for the ones that come near his farm or the cats on it. Expect them to be shot on sight and cooked later. This could generate some nice negative CR if you're interested! (II) He has long since gotten rid of his cat ears, but he's available to help out anyone going feral or wanting attention because of theirs. Let the big lazy cat take care of you. (III) He has no personal interest in the mountains, but he's available to help out with gathering parties and assist those who get frozen.

For Val/entina Romanyszyn/videnije: these are all conditional on approval of their body switch, so tags for this may come later. (I) Val doesn't feel strongly either way about any type of geese, but they'd gladly toss them some food if they asked for it. (II) He does still have his cat ears, if anyone wants to be pounced on by a horny tomcat looking for a mate. He'll be in cis male form for any threads here! 🙏 Please bring this idiot adventurer with you on your hunt for salves and herbs! He'll be organizing a hike in order to look for spell components and the magic stuff of healing potions.

If anyone wants an impromptu excursion (gen only but aimed at building CR through ~danger~) I'm happy to do a PBP DM'd entry for roughly 4-6 players, running monsters and dangerous terrain. RNG can suffice to replace actual D&D rules. I don't plan on getting anyone killed, but if you're okay with injuries sustained in fighting, this might be a good option. (I could also run several individual threads if that works better; I haven't done any tests but I'm sure it's possible.)

Happy to continue CR both positive and negative. It'd be nice to build new CR, too; Oran's a tiefling with horns and a tail and he has some powerful/spooky magic, so he's probably noticeable when he's around town. He particularly likes sunning on the beach and reading network posts in the cafe.

Lastly, Oran is looking to get more serious with any magical applications to open up teleportation circles or trans-planar travel, relying mostly on Even Immolzeth for the arcane specifics. Lucas will be eating geese. =| Look, he's a cat man. He eats birds and fish and meaty things. These are one of the few things that have cropped up that he feels he can actually hunt, and if they're making a nuisance of themselves, he'll happily help out by breaking some goosey necks and roasting up some tasty goosies.

As for the feline option... he's already a cat. He didn't get any extra accessories this round, but he already has those instincts in him and I'm happy to have them be prodded further by the Augur. I'm also happy to have him interact with others who have said instincts pushing at them. He'd understand them pretty well. He's also a preening vain cat, so he'd be good with grooming.

Available for harpy stuff, but I'm more into the shippy options.

HMMM. I have Keith from that show about cat robots and his a5 card is here.

He still has his kitty ears and I have plans for him to awkwardly lose them with Garma, but I'm down for awkward shenanigans involving territorial behavior and confusion over sudden possessive behavior, haha. He's part cat-alien, so cat fights seem only natural.

I'm also down for exploring the island's mountains together. Keith is inclined to go looking around with the Black Lion though I'm happy to have him go on foot, too. Ideas include: going in mecha together but ??? glitchy failure requires eros energy to repower, general harpy fighty shenanigans (he's quite skilled at fighting so he'd be handy), nothing bad actually happens and we all have a productive time picking useful herbs and have a good time???

I'd also consider him getting his bayard stolen by the geese, so if your character would like to happen across this bizarre steering wheel-looking weapon or help a guy fish it out of the pond lmk!

- Yashiki will attempt to tame some of the geese because hey, free eggs, maybe. Also, he used to raise rabbits to be spirit mediums and guardians. (laughs) So, the attempt to teach geese how to become battery-powered balls of energy and it absolutely won't work. Oh, well.

- He's going to be exploring the ruins of the city in general (that was a log I was going to do, and this event happened so combining it); so people can come across him attempting to glean some memories of the past by running his hands over the walls and trying to feel spiritual energy of the area. Will he explain what he's doing? No. He never even really explained it to people he knew and just went, "So, anyway."

For Exxis he still has his ears, so he'd definitely fall into the more animalistic tendencies, but try to fight them until he can't. He's got black leopard ears and tail so...yeah. Someone want to help a brother out? Also he's likely to get attacked by geese because dude is terrible with animals. Them stealing things from him to give to people they like would be hilarious. ALSO DEFINITELY EXPLORING THE FOREST AND MOUNTAINS. He's gonna be all over mountains. Cave-boy here wants to go spelunking.

Also still has her ears! There are some underlying issues there maybe. Ilia is likely to be more aggressive, possessive, and likely to not really know what to do with these predatory feelings and may look to suppress them. Also definitely investigating the mountains and running into a harpy or two. She'll be rough company, but would actually appreciate someone coming along.

Mara | She-Ra and the Princesses of Power | shemara | A5 Card
All of mine have ears and that means Mara included! She's going to be very affectionate and want to cuddle and rub on people and just be close to them. And you know, that might escalate in how much affection she's wanting. /wink Besides that, she will find the geese weird and therefore cute and she'll want to pet them. She has a way with animals so expect geese to like her and for her to be confused if random stuff ends up dropped in her lap.

I did say all of mine still had their ears so... Well Miranda's a Norwegian Forest Cat which is just a big fluffy cat that thinks its a dog and wants to be liked. She'll be wanting to be close to other people and if someone scratches her ear she might make a very inappropriate noise. Those mating instincts are going up. She'll manage to make a mess with the geese. Some will like her and give her things and others will chase her around while she screams for help. And if she gets near those mountains REST ASSURED SHE WILL GET LOST. It's what she does. Someone please help this mess.

Jessica Jones (underachievement, A5) will be dealing with a persistent goose who gets a taste for whiskey after yoinking her flask. A booze goose, if you will. Her most frequented local spot will, as usual, be the bar, with a feathery +1 as she tries various non-alcoholic alternatives to get the goose to leave her alone. And that'll of course backfire and leave her with a live-in guard-slash-attack bird when this is all over.

Folks are welcome to run into her during her plight, help her brainstorm what geese even like, hook up with her at the bar or after last call, shame the drunk goose for being a lush, or anything else.

Ben Hargreeves (chestburster, A5) needs a break from his brother and all the cats that either really like or really hate him, so he is going for a hike in the newly revealed mountains, where he will be susceptible to harpy attacks and screams.

Give him a kiss; or, upon his return to town, help him house hunt, or find a dog to shoo away the kitty cats. If your character heard about Ben from Klaus (via his network post or elsewhere), they can slide into his DM's on his September log, which I'll put up in a day or two.

he's had Opinions on heroes in the past (bad) but he's a little more tame about them now, mostly, but will be very skeptical if he ever hears about anyone running around in hero suits and such!! otherwise, he's just a sick boy idol who's also going to have his cat ears for a bit, but he'll be a bit more feral about it all.

Kotetsu - Kotetsu is built to be chased by geese. So he's going to get bit on the ass by a goose. And it's going to steal his cellphone because he hasn't done anything on his card yet and he has more or less nothing else. Bye, Kaede, hopefully someone nice gets it!

Kotetsu, by some miracle, does not have ears but he will play with ears. And he does have heat/breeding and bites/bruises sooo...

He's not super interested in the forest but he IS super interested in protecting people, so I am more than happy to offer him off as a bodyguard of sorts... or he might just go take a page out of Sky High's book and scout around making sure people are okay. Maybe stuffing some fruit in his pocket. He's just as likely to help someone immobilized as he is likely to be immobilized. This is his luck.

Laurent - Laurent will be nice to the geese. He has no beef with geese. He might decide to make friends with one just for the sake of having a lil companion.

Actual man ho Laurent Thierry will happily help anyone that needs some ear removal without hesitation. He has breeding/in heat, fighting and leashes/collars! So, yknow, pick your poison.

Laurent is keeping the Fuck out of the forest. Please bring him some nice fruits, please, he will probably give someone a quick 'reward' for their generosity. He is taking the nature of this place and RUNNING with it.

Since I'm still wrapping up some other stuff, I'm only planning closed threads for this event. He still has his cat ears and tail but I already have plans for him to lose them to someone specific.

That said, I'm tentatively planning for Huaisang's fan to get stolen by a goose, cuing a literal wild goose chase through the city trying to recover it. In exchange for help getting it back, Huaisang will offer to assist folks with auspicious acts they need help with in the future. However, he'll turn down any character that's underage but might be willing to help network if he meets anyone else in the same boat.

He also might available for cuddling, nuzzling, licking, and grooming random people when the bestial instincts start kicking in. He'll be both territorial and domestic so if you're up for your character getting into ridiculous shenanigans and then winding up blueballed, here's a hot mess.
