A5 Card: in the comments of this info post (basic stats, permissions, nsfw info & kinks) & tl;dr: 40s-ish army general/academy headmaster, Awkward Dad, Cyborg— james is a whole ass neverending gift box of titles that boil down to a somewhat severe man on first impression that folds quickly to a friendly if occasionally awkward older man who tries to protect those around him to the best of his ability. he's not the best with casual interactions but he'll warm up to it eventually. things have been rough on him the last year in particular back in his when and he was yanked here at a fairly crucial time, so help him settle in?

▶ an easy-to-fluster and entirely too serious guy trying not to be either of those things, desperately

I forgot to say that I'll be apping mercy from overwatch this app round in my lil blurb up there so there is the possibility for that CR as well if he'd benefit from a softer healer type! she's pretty playful but far better at reading tells and listening/displaying patience with people where james is like... well-meaning but sometimes a bit too strict/stiff despite his attempts otherwise lmao. I'm still laughing over "well if you find me suitable" and cloud's aggressive backtracking, POOR CLOUD... HE'S SORRY... he is wary of doing anything Too Militaristic bc he doesn't want to put anyone off, but some aspects are definitely helpful to survival and securing locations so he'd gladly invite him along on any future excursions too! probably like securing unstable structures/blocking access to them etc where it takes people with Specific Skills.

I promise you're not missing anything good re: overwatch it's mostly shallow storytelling and a rowdy cast of characters but angie's a good bean! she's a lil younger than james and very sweet, I'm sure they'll get along just fine. 😌

their CR's so cute already and he appreciates the leadership in him! he'll see his character as they go but he def. already likes bellamy a lot! I bet he'll help keep james grounded too with more optimism than usual, even though he has his right-hand man here; clover usually just listens to him haha.

I didn't realize at first how much older James is - which is perfect in terms of this CR. bellamy's definitely someone who's hopeful and inspires hope in others! but he probably needs grounding himself in terms of letting his heart rule over his head.

LMFAO YES unfortunately(?) he's like ~45, alongside the military he's also the headmaster of one of four academies in his world that teach teenagers to be huntsmen/huntresses and fight monsters, so he's fairly used to supporting younger generations; I feel like they're already off to a great start! they'll find a good balance and support each other just fine, please 1000% feel free to call him out on not sleeping enough or agonizing over dumb logistics or who knows what else, james is horrendous at minding himself. he's going to end up treasuring bellamy so much. 😭

that's such an intriguing background! I don't know if you mean not sleeping enough as in actual sleep or sleeping around but I can have bellamy call him out on both things HAHA. I definitely want bellamy to sarcastically say "okay, dad" one day but on the inside be like but can you actually be my dad though.

RWBY is... interesting!! it's not super great but it is a fairly interesting setting, all the characters are based off of fairy tales and james is the tin man, naturally(?) bc he's half-metal I guess and there's a theme of "does he really have a heart? yes he does but he can't have one, but he tries anyway" which is just as confusing and forgotten about, I Assure You. and while I absolutely meant "not sleeping enough" he is also not sleeping AROUND enough so please definitely call him out on both HAHAHA bellamy's the hero we needed all along.
ALSO PLEASE DO IT... he'd probably awkwardly respond to it by "be home before the street lights come on SON" but lowkey feel the same way so. 😔 destroy his tin man heart, get adopted, it's win/win!! how did I end up playing two adults who adopt people left and right, good lord... a mom AND a dad...

I have heard about RWBY but I would have never expected that would be the plot (tbh I had no idea what to expect because the title gives away nothing to me??). but I always love it when someone develops a character in RP from a canon they admit isn't that great and makes me love them, which will probably happen with james! let bellamy hook his dad up on some sexy dates.
characters who adopt others are the best kind okay, you obviously have excellent taste! admittedly bellamy is guilty of that himself but I love the idea of someone adopting him for a change.

yeah it's basically "soulless monsters run amok all over the world and academies train up hunters to fight them, let's follow a few of the main teams of teens from This One Academy for school shenanigans and fighting tournaments, also the adults mostly suck and suddenly the world is extra awful and we have to go on a journey to save the world" and guess who plays one of the suckier adults! (it's me) the title is the main team's name made up from the first letter of everyone's actual names HAHA it's absolute nonsense. it's how all the academies apparently title their teams except james is awful at naming structures... they're supposed to be named after colors and he just names one "funky". smh... please get ur old man some patient dates he's very rusty and thinks "funky" is a color, honestly he's hopeless
you're far too sweet and have way too much faith in me but I hope james (and maybe soon angie) will be enjoyable all the same! it's ok it just means when bellamy adopts someone, james gets grandkids to spoil also!
