EVENT 003: INAUSPICIOUS TIDES

I. Swap til you drop With the abundance brought forth by the influx of Eros energy in the world, the Augur has blessed the world's new organic inhabitants - past and recent arrivals both - with personalized welcome packages. Overnight, these goody bags have been quietly delivered to the doorsteps (or dirty hovel floors, Gundams, tree branches, etc.) of each Island resident. Open them up to find a supply of basic hygiene necessities perfectly suited to your tastes, as well as a small selection of fun extras: good quality clothing, beachwear, fancy soaps, "necessities" to complete an Auspicious Act, and maybe even a surprise from home. Unfortunately, not every item is yours. In their haste to please their guests, the robots might have mixed a few items up, switching up favorite colors, smells, lingerie sizes, and preferred condom flavors - among other things - for someone else's. What’s more, a tiny glitch in the Augur has also beamed some inventory items directly from their owners' homes and placed them right in a stranger's welcome bag! The robots catch on quickly to the problem. By afternoon, they have hastily set up a swap meet on the beach for residents to trade, sell, or barter their unwanted items. "̷T̶r̷a̷d̴e̵ ̷a̴u̸s̷p̸i̶c̸e̴s̶ ̵a̴n̷d̴ ̶b̵e̶ ̷t̶w̸i̴c̵e̴-̴b̸l̷e̸s̷s̸e̸d̵!̴"̶ As a special event, the robots on site are also facilitating square swaps for consenting parties, and will upload the appropriate app to the devices of interested residents. Use your wrist device to project your A5 card for all to see and get swapping! Simply by tapping each other's card displays, you can easily switch squares between yourselves. The robots have authorized one square swap per person. II. Treasure Island i̶n̴o̶r̷g̷a̷n̷i̵c̷ ̸m̷a̶t̵t̴e̶r̴ ̶d̵e̵t̵e̶c̷t̵e̶d̶.̶.̷.̴ All of the activity on the beach has kicked up something beneath the sands, and as you make your wait through the festivities you may notice something glittering and gold on the sands. Mysterious treasure has begun to wash up from the seas - from large chests (ahem) to small statues, from ornate jewelry to faceless coins of indeterminate origin. You may not be the materialistic sort, but the treasure almost compels you to pick it up. Once you find something, you'll be hungry to unearth more. When questioned about the treasure's source, the robots appear stumped. Jewels and gold have no worth to them, they explain. h̶o̸l̷d̶ ̴o̵n̵ ̷t̶o̶ ̴w̶h̶a̶t̸'̸s̷ ̵p̸r̶e̶c̸i̶o̶u̴s̶.̴.̶.̴ Time will reveal that this is cursed treasure. The treasures on the beach inspire feelings of not only jealousy, but also the desire to flaunt what you do have. You find yourself craving what belongs to others - be it food, items... or even lovers. Those under the treasure’s spell are attracted to even more treasure; a flash of shiny new gemstones may be all it takes to entice even the most loyal to your side. Anyone who can sense magic will notice a faint green aura around a cursed item, but little else can be determined. Incorporating an item into your Auspicious Acts - be it coin to trade for the pleasure of their company, or if you'd prefer to be taken wearing nothing but decadent pearls - seems to lift the aura and alleviate those strange feelings of envy and vanity. Inauspicious Tides The lucky few who discover how to cleanse the treasure of its aura are not enough to stop the rightful owners from coming to claim what’s theirs. From the deep, they rise. A flash of lightning illuminates the dark sea. A horde of bodies begin to walk out from beneath the waves. They range from monstrous to humanoid, but a commonality they all have is decay. "Our treasure..." Some are completely inhuman, covered in bone and debris, flailing slimy limbs or tentacles at anything that moves. Others seem half-person, half-shipwreck, with bodies mutating around pieces of driftwood. While the largest of them threaten to wreak havoc on the beaches from the shallows, their long tentacles reaching for any buildings within their grasp with destructive intent, the smaller and more human-looking of the invaders march in droves towards land. The robots rally to defend the Island, but it soon becomes apparent that they are no match for this threat. "Give it back..." When the horde makes it ashore, they may attempt to fight the residents of the Island - but they seem far more agitated by the appearance of any native 'bots, attacking them maliciously. They are impervious to gunfire, they feel no pain, and their waterlogged bodies make them resistant to flame. They spill over all corners of the city as they make their way to the hospital. Should any of these creatures make it inside, they will head for the Augur first and foremost. And though the sun's rays will peek through the windows and turn them to ash come daybreak, their damage is done. The Augur will go offline for repairs; the robots will dedicate themselves to tending to it for the next month. ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● N A V I G A T I O N

Valentina will definitely be getting a package, and I'm down with items being mixed up if anyone wants! She currently has a sniper rifle that can also end up in someone else's house. She'll be receiving a First Aid Kit, but less useful and kinda sexy (for that Medical Play square), a set of nice clothing, a nurse's outfit, a bikini, and a set of Zariku Iida music albums.

Don't need any squares swapped, but if someone is looking to get one traded, I don't mind!

TREASURE ISLAND

Very little interest in having Valentina be affected, but willing to have her help characters out with auspicious square fills to clear it.

INAUSPICIOUS TIDES

Valentina still can't upload or use her Holon, so she'll be running help on the ground here. Since she's more suited to the sniper role, I'm down for her providing overwatch to characters who are taking a more active role. She's also here for rescuing people, as her Vanguard suit makes her strong enough to withstand a missile hit, so these things should be no problem.

They totally should team up for a bit on the tides. Whether Valentina's there when/if Pyrrha manages to get herself actually injured is up to you, but I figure this way she can see what Pyrrha can do and vice-versa

I'd be so down for that. Would you want Valentina to be the one to help nurse her back to health a bit? Like she wouldn't be deathly injured or anything, but it'd be enough to count as hurt/comfort if you'd be up for that.

Well, I'm not down to doing a top-level for it, but since we wanted her and Rise to bang I could see her picking up something and it making her possessive of like.. being Rise's first female experience? Which normally she doesn't care either way but it'd fit with their interactions thus far.

McCree will be getting some sorely needed items to spruce up his new farmhouse! That includes toiletries, beachwear, a fancy outfit, more flashbangs and ammunition, some tobacco + whiskey scented candles, and a paddle ;).

ICly, the only square he'd like to trade off would be Electricity, as he'd rather not get shocked to hell and back.

TREASURE ISLAND

Again, very little interest in having McCree be affected, but more than willing to have him help someone out in clearing it off.

INAUSPICIOUS TIDES

McCree is just a bounty hunter with a gun. He'll absolutely be shooting at those nasty little creatures, but when it becomes clear they can't do much he'll be more interested in keeping out of their way and making sure non-combatants aren't injured.

Down for him getting injured saving people as well, as well as trying to, well, drop buildings to block the paths of the creatures.

Saving is ALSO GOOD but his bullets won't do a lot to the creatures, though the flashbangs would. But that could be hilarious for "bullets aren't working wtf?????"

Duo Maxwell | Gundam Wing

Like the other two, Duo is getting a little care package. While it's full of useful and embarrassing things, he's also getting handcuffs, a cute dress with matching underwear, some MRE's (he will actually come to someone's house to claim these), and a little miniature figure of Deathscythe 1.0. I'm down for him getting other people's stuff in there as well.

Duo would be looking to trade two squares: Suspension and Handcuffs, with an IC preference for Handcuffs (but an OOC preference for suspension).

TREASURE ISLAND

Hilariously enough, he is a scavenger, he is going to pick up shiny things and get affected. I'm down with having him try to lure someone to his side and they end up banging, preferably with rings or necklaces involved. I'm only doing this if someone takes me up, however, since I'd like him clear-headed when the monsters show up.

INAUSPICIOUS TIDES

As much as Duo doesn't want to get into his Gundam Shinji, he'll hop into Deathscythe Hell in order to fight the monsters on the beach. Deathscythe is a large mobile suit so it's pretty sizable; I'm down for threading with other powered folk/mecha pilots for the fight or the immediate afterwards when things calm down.

I’d be up for treasure shenanigans between Duo and Zoe if you’d be interested. I think she’ll be leaning more to the flaunting side of the curse - she can dig stuff up pretty easily with her powers, so I can imagine her decking herself out with rings, necklaces, and bracelets she’s found and even turning some of the gold into a bikini to wear with her powers. Which could lead into striptease / exposure territory...
