local 40yo goth with the unfortunate superpower of bad luck pretends to be an asshole but is actually very sensitive and loves his nieces very much. fights world-destroying monsters with a sword-scythe-gun because he's super extra.

he also (until very recently) used to be a total drunk because he hates himself, so he can relate to that!

fwiw if you're not familiar with her canon Edelgard's an axe-wielding emotionally-repressed emperor who's the last of her ten siblings and out to make her world into her idea of a better place at any cost (to be fair she has excellent points but potentially ruthless methods!). they both sort of have a last-of-my-line thing going on but I feel like it's their contrasts that'd make them fun.
