Oh fuck Volumes Six and Seven are a trip you've got Some Shit waiting for you. And at least one of the big revelations in the early chapters of Six particularly is semi-relevant to Raven as it at least explains why she decided "fuck this shit" in regards to the Ozpin/Salem conflict? But other than that, yeah, no Bird Mom.

Yang's callout of her at the end of V5 was so cathartic I was just cheering her the whole time through. Especially since from Tai's description she was... probably not always so fucking terrible? Which kinda makes it worse.

For Summer, I grab fanart from google searches and crop it. It's about as simple and basic as possible.

that was such an amazing scene i love it so much

i'm fascinated by Raven because her morality and values are so *weird* but she's also so *awful*

and yeah i don't think she was the maiden when she was with strq (unless i have the timeline wrong) so probably getting that power wound up making her really paranoid

Honestly after her conversation with Yang I feel like her morality system is just one big complicated attempt to self-justify the shit she pulls.

No, she definitely wasn't. The previous maiden showed up with the Branwens sometime after Raven returned to them and tried to hide out with them... and, well, we know how that ended now, don't we?

YEAH to some degree, I think it's genuine in that she really does have a very darwinistic view of things but also there's definitely a lot of self rationalization going on there

i can definitely see it as being "always kind of prickly and mildly hostile -> oh shit now I am directly in Salem's target I jump straight into the paranoia deep end"

Yeah, becoming the maiden did not help matters. Of course, the reveal in V6 gives us the reason she abandoned Oz in the first place... and apparently in her mind, abandoning Oz meant abandoning her team. And Yang. Kind of an all-or-nothing attitude there on top of everything else.
