Systems R̸e̶a̷d̸y̵. Load Simulation …? Y/N Visit Augur Shop InsteadSimulation Summary00. Arrival: A Dark Forest  Your consciousness comes to you in the midst of a dense autumn forest. You haven't been asleep. You stand there, fully clothed, but perhaps not in your usual attire - perhaps you're wearing a belted tunic with trousers and leather boots to protect you from the cold ground, or a long and modest dress with an apron and a hood, hand-sewn in natural fabrics. The chill in the air and even the smell of the dirt and the trees are not like those of the Island. This place feels old, a strange energy crackling in the air. Some may recognize it as a very ancient magic. In the distance, colorful lights dance between the trees. Approach closely enough and they look like fairies, but they are always just out of your reach. Are they leading you somewhere? No - if you follow them, as they seem to bid you, they will only lead you deeper into danger: a snarling wolf, a sudden drop into a craggy ravine. They are mischievous, sometimes cruel little things. You'll never escape this forest by yourself. For as long as you are alone, the night is interminable - days long, it seems. Are you the determined sort, willing to choose a direction and continue walking no matter what, or will you give into despair of being hopelessly lost? With any luck, it won't take you long to find out that your only way out is with the help of someone else. Only by agreeing to work together will the dawn finally break, and your path will become clear. Should you refuse, or never cross paths with another Islander? Maybe the wolves will take you in. I. Soul Sweets [ Week 1 - 2 ]  Autumn is a busy season in Tenebrae Town! The villagers need all the help they can get from their recently returned neighbors, and Islanders may find themselves enthusiastically recruited into all manner of domestic or agricultural tasks: tending livestock, harvesting grain, hanging straw to dry, weaving baskets, preserving food, and so on. If you have no such talents to offer, now may be a good time to ask a friend to teach you. To all who demonstrate a willingness to be productive and pitch in with the harvest activities, villagers are cheerful and welcoming - in fact, they are even willing to join hands with a vampire or a werewolf at the dinner table, though they may be more wary of the Transformed than they would be of a newly minted witch. Nevertheless, those who mind their manners will be treated as family. Perhaps this festive spirit will reach the Islanders, too. 'Tis the season of sharing meals, songs, and work, and the tavern owners frequently give away free drinks and hot meals to villagers they see putting in the hard work on the farm and in the fields. On clear nights, quite a crowd will gather! One proud town tradition is the baking of soul cakes: tender sweet rolls which may be filled with raisin or chestnut paste, sweetened squash, and other seasonal delights. Soul cakes are baked in enormous batches and shared freely throughout the village, so idle villagers are frequently recruited to help with the baking. It is said that if one is thinking of their dear friend or sweetheart while making a soul cake, and then share that very treat with them, the two of you will stay together for another 10 years. Just like soul mates! Even more fortuitous: it is said that baking soul cakes together is the start of many a romance, and so playful flirting is encouraged throughout the process. Mind that you don't wind up flirting too strongly with someone else's beloved, however! Strangely, it seems as if small disagreements like these are breaking out more frequently… don't let the tension get to you. II. Simmering Sentiments [ Week 2 - 3 ]  There is definitely something in the air. Perhaps it is the palpable rivalry between the werewolves and the vampires bubbling up to the surface after weeks of being set aside for the "greater good." Some villagers say it is a curse of the fae, who are disturbed by the influx of so much supernatural energy into Tenebrae Town and wish to see this tight-knit community fall apart. Regardless, one thing is certain: tempers are running hot even as temperatures drop, and hardly anyone is free of this influence. Nerves are fraying. Pet peeves which you may have previously dismissed are suddenly so much more apparent. Old, long-settled disagreements suddenly arise anew. You have been so, so very patient, and you feel at your breaking point. The only exceptions? Werewolves find peace and clarity at long last with werewolves. Vampires with vampires. Witches and humans with others of their kind. It seems as if the only way to get any peace from the disquiet in your mind is to spend an hour or two in like company, no talking necessary - though of course, spilling your guts in exchange for a little friendly advice never hurts, right? Better to unload on a familiar-looking stranger than the object of your ire, surely. III. Snowfall's Secret [ Week 4 ]  The first snowfall in Tenebrae Town arrives early in the season, and should you ask any villager, it's quite an event. Farmers and bakers work day and night, and the market is bustling with vendors eager to distribute their wares. Villagers frequently remind each other to stock up on supplies, and in the streets, Islanders may be asked by residents how their own preparations are faring? One wouldn't want to be caught out in the snow, after all! The first fall has been known to last for days and days. What's so bad about getting caught in the snow, one might ask? To which friendly villagers will pat your arm and praise your sense of humor. Do you heed these vague warnings when the flakes begin to fall? Do you imitate your neighbors when you see them rushing indoors into the nearest house they see, no matter the owner? If not, you will soon find out why the snowfall is to be avoided… but not right away. You may have some time to go about your business, maybe even to arrive home safe and sound. But within the hour, those who were touched by the first fall's flakes will begin to feel unbearably cold. Nothing - not the crackling fire, not hot drinks, not piles of blankets - will warm them. First the fingers freeze in place, then the toes. The frost creeps up the limbs, seizing them in place. By the end of the hour, the snowfall's victims are frozen solid. A. And the frozen will dream. They will relive the moments in their past when they felt their coldest and most alone: betrayals, abandonments, deaths, lonely childhoods. They may dream of the nights they spent homeless, or the times they walked home by themselves in the frigid rain. They might even dream of the times they turned their backs on someone else, or held back their feelings when they should have shared them. Anything cold - whether physically or emotionally - replays like a torturous film reel on an endless loop. These dreams bleed over. Proximity helps: stay close to a dreamer, and you might get a peek into their most intimate memories when you finally succumb to sleep. Even so, some dreams are known to travel even across town, strangers living out the worst memories of strangers. (Will you recognize the person whose life you lived when you wake? Was it someone you'd been fighting with just days before?) There is only one way to wake the frozen: body heat, of course. A full night of comforting hugging should do the trick. B. For a lucky few… particularly those with especially strong magical ability (or new witch powers!)… these chilling dreams might bleed over regardless of the dreamer's frozen status. Such is the mysterious power of the first snowfall. Five participating Islanders, chosen by RNG, will be delivered a dream from one of our NPCs within the next few days! Characters may share what they learn however you see fit, either by threading or OOC sharing with IC meetings handwaved. (Sign up with the town registrar if you are interested in RNG opportunities!) The shared dream will be identical, so no one person will be responsible for the information contained within. No pressure if you are selected but are unable to participate. 1. Harvest/Soul Sweets - Felix is no farmer or domestic worker, but he wouldn't mind taking a machete to the harvest if someone showed him the proper technique. He's not much for teamwork in general, but harvest season here with the cold weather reminds him strongly of home, so he's a little more likely to pitch in with things than usual...which means that despite the fact that he doesn't like sweets or cake and doesn't know much about baking, he could potentially be talked into making one of these cakes with someone. Maybe.
2. Simmering Sentiments - haha, oh dear. Felix has a short temper at the best of times, so uh...if you're really looking to get your character into a vicious argument, feel free to find him? >_> Alternatively, he hasn't really spoken to any other werewolves since he got turned, so I'm grabby hands for wolf friends!
3. Snowfall's Secret - YES PLEASE, this was made for Felix "Pushes My Friends Away" "Abandonment Issues" "From a Frozen Hellscape" Fraldarius. Like...wow, he will have so much to relive. Like basically his whole life from age 13 on. >_>

1 - Harvest/Soul sweets - Cooking with Professor is a common activity in canon, so he's definitely down to do some baking (and so, so much eating) if given the chance. He prefers to cook with other people so this would be a perfect opportunity.
2 - Simmering Sentiments - He's not an emotional guy really, so he might be more alarmed and confused by feeling irritated. He has a lot bottled up, and a lot waiting to spill over. His anger is more low-key, so don't expect a shouting match with him unless you touch a very, very sore spot.
3 - Snowfall's Secret - THIS THIS THIS. He's been sleeping outside mostly right now since he hates the quiet of his apartment. He's not a fan of the cold, but he's also not in a great place right now. He's still a bit lost and confused.
I'd love to do some memory share with him, and he's absolutely a body-heat leech normally, and loves physical contact so he's all about the cuddling.

Soul Sweets - Helping out around the village is expected of him. As for making the soul cakes? Roxas can be oblivious, so flirting may be harder to do with him. But if it'll help make the cakes more effective? Yes, he'll do his best to try and attempt to do it.
Simmering Sentiments - Since I was pretty AFK in October, Roxas is still human. Still, he has a bad temper, so it isn't out of the realm of possibility to have a fight with someone. Even complete strangers.
Snowfall's Secret - Cuddling with strangers is weird... but if it means not dying, it could be a thing to be talked into. Roxas also has a rather rough short life, so there's quite a few issues that could be delved into.
Otherwise I am up for anything. Even multiple threads with one character, because why not.

While Rosie tends to act super confident and self-assured, she's actually a lot more insecure and sensitive than she wants to let on. I'm not saying that anyone should be mean and make her cry, but I'm also not not saying that. Of course, the hope is to reconcile eventually but I'm also down for starting off on the wrong foot with someone / negative CR.
Whether just her non-conformist nature or still upset about getting into a tiff with someone, Rosie will absolutely be going out into the cold. Her dumb ass will think she's - as usual - immune to it but surprise she's not. And the worst part is the cure is cuddling. Eugh.
I'm down for dream sharing too since she has so many, of the bad memories. She might get a little dodgy and try to pretend like they aren't a big deal whatsoever if talked about later but it also might be a good chance for her to try and learn to be a bit more vulnerable.

For one, LB will be doing her best to share her fishing catches with people, but she can probably lend a hand in preserving food too! Otherwise, the soul cakes sound more like the kind of sweets she'd actually enjoy? So she'll gladly join in to learn how to make them, so she can actually maybe be a little shy (and feel the tiniest bit selfish) over offering some to the like handful of friends she has on the island. She'll be a little confused if people offer her one outside of this little circle, but also maybe be a little happy about it.
But also, I'm down for flirting while baking these cakes too, LB won't back down on that much.

LB is from fuckin northern Norway, she knows better than to stay out in the cold. However, for the sake of this event, I can maybe finagle her not getting to a shelter quick enough if anyone wants to experience the aftermath of her being forced to kill her entire family, which would consist of like corpses everywhere while she's creepily PTSD laughing. Her canon is fucked!
Otherwise, I can offer her as the person saving your character too, she's a v good hugger and swears she won't accidentally hurt your character through her touch power, okay.

Soul Sweets - Akira's been staying at a campsite in the woods behind some old man's orchard and he won't go into town much. He's obtained an invisibility cloak, which he might use to steal freshly baked things for himself to take back to said campsite. He will not do any work without coercion, the harvest isn't his problem.
Simmering Sentiments - He's not an emotional person, but in general is irritated by most people on some level for simply existing in his proximity. Anyone who asks a lot of questions or is patronising will especially get on his nerves. He's still human for the seeking people out part.
Snowfall's Secret - Akira is cold by nature, and pretty much all of his existence pre-island is also cold in some ways. Any dreams of specific things from his end might include sensitive subjects like war, death, non-con, and mental disconnect. He's not a cuddler, so for that side of things it would have to be with established CR. The rest of you can freeze to death, it's fine. People come back.

Edelgard's been learning how to cook but she's a complete novice at baking. Since she likes sweets rolls she'll be up for trying to help and tbh an afternoon of bonding over baking and then enjoying a hot meal and free drinks on a beautiful clear night with good-natured villagers singing songs nearby sounds like the kind of idyllic experience she doesn't expect to ever get to enjoy at home. (Edelgard is a vampire in the sim. While bloodlust and sex are unlikely with this prompt she does currently have that inherent vampire charisma and will smell like something pleasantly personal to your character when they're near enough to catch her scent.)

I don't have anything specific in mind here but I'm down for Edelgard butting heads with wolves and witches or having a calming experience with other vampires.

Even at the best of times Edelgard isn't especially accustomed to the cold so body heat opportunities are A+. This is the worst of times, though, and she has a lot of memories that people could share: being taken from her home and large family and spirited away to Faerghus when she was a child, being taken back to the Empire and being separated from her first crush/the first friend she'd ever made strictly on her own, her torturous time in the dungeon beneath the palace as she was experimented on and watched her siblings get whittled away, literally any interaction with Lord Arundel after that (keeping in mind that she's from an early post-timeskip point), any time at the Academy when someone did something nice for her and she had steel herself and stay aloof because she couldn't afford to let herself get too close to people, the long weeks after Byleth's disappearance when she stubbornly insisted on continuing to search, or even more recently her despairing final moments of consciousness during the battle for the island and her very brief transformation into hegemon husk as she tried to get Dimitri to safety.
Still up for belatedly playing out the vampire transformation sex, cr ~20+ preferred, and also cool with aphro-related situations outside of the sim. This comment on the last cr meme has more info about squares I'm interested in hitting at the moment. (Possessive/leaving marks may no longer be on the table but I'm not sure yet.)
I may not top-level on the event post so hmu if you'd like to do something, whether it's in or out of the sim.

Naoto can tend livestock even though he's not really a farmboy so much as a...chocobo stylist, but he'd be happy to be around animals. He can make canned fruit so he can teach somebody that too! I'm pretty much good with any of the suggested activities. Teaching him how to weave baskets may be a slapstick moment on its own, to be honest. Of course, he'll be more than happy to socialize with friends and new people alike in general................something needs to distract him from sad feelings of missing his boyfriend!
That said, Nao will only share the soul pastries with his closest CR, but he will help everyone with baking theirs! I'm all for friendly flirting. Nao enjoys that even back home.

I volunteer Nao to hear your character spill their beans for him to listen, be it as a friend or acquaintance or even stranger. Nao can spill the beans about his fear of being a cheater??? With the context being that he'd been here for a year, with his boyfriend coming here and leaving (via TDMs)...that'd be quite the conversation on his part so I'd only write out if you're cool with that.

Nao isn't one for cold weather, like, at all. So I could have him run into a house that someone else happens to be in. There's also no way he'd ignore someone if they are frozen, so he'll definitely utilize body heat and cuddling to save them. GIVE ME ALL THE H/C!!! This is my brand.

Plotting: Not sure if I'll top level or just randomly assault people with shit, but here are my vague thoughts so far:
I. Soul Sweets: Seteth's historically associated with the land, so farming and harvest type activities are exactly his speed. He'll be happy to help out with those, and willing to help out with the baking, though his cooking is only average TBH. He's probably more easily flustered than flirted with properly, but don't let that stop you from trying?
II. Simmering Sentiments: Seteth's more likely to be stiff/formal and dismissive than get overly angry--and most likely of all to attempt to escape the situation and isolate himself as soon as he starts feeling too grouchy. He remembers the sort of shit that went down thanks to the blizzard event, and he doesn't want to risk hurting anyone. Pester or detain him if you want to, but he's going to be doing his best not to pick fights.
III. Snowfall's Secret: Also because he remembers the blizzard event, Seteth is going to heed the warnings to stock up on supplies and hide indoors to avoid the snow. That means he could show up at your character's place if it's the closest shelter? Alternately, he could rescue your character if you want to share their memories, or get caught outside if you want to experience his, likely thanks to either rescuing someone else, or getting caught outside far from shelter.
