Cornelia and Even are interrupted by someone who needs Cornelia for Important Things and either Even volunteers to come along (he has relevant information/skills) or he's forced to come along (for overhearing something he shouldn't have? for being a person of interest? because Cornelia's supposed to be responsible for him?)
OR one of them/both of them leave the ball for whatever reason and walk in on something they shouldn't, setting off a crazy chain of events.
OR one of them is the source of the intrigue and that's sort of why they're together in the first place.
OR something else!
Also as a side note, Britannia can be pretty damned xenophobic. We can introduce it as background tension if that's something you wanna play with, or we can either ignore it/handwave it away since it's just a dream or come up with a reason why it doesn't affect Even. Whatever sounds best to you is cool w/me!
